Margin is a record-keeping and analysis tool. It is not investment advice. Yuktibyte Products Private Limited is not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser, a research analyst, a portfolio manager or a stock broker, and nothing in the product or on these websites is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. Every valuation, expected return and verdict you see is arithmetic run on assumptions that you chose. Your investment decisions, and their outcomes, are entirely your own.

1. Who you are contracting with

Margin is operated by Yuktibyte Products Private Limited, a company incorporated in India under CIN U62099KA2025PTC196482, with its registered office in Bengaluru, Karnataka. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Yuktibyte Products Private Limited, and "you" means the person using the service. Our company details are listed on the Company page.

"Margin" or "the service" means the application at go.marginapp.in, the websites at marginapp.in, the research library, the Screen tool, the API, and any related content we publish, including guides, insights and stock and industry story videos.

2. Accepting these terms

You accept these terms when you create an account or otherwise use the service. If you are using Margin on behalf of a company, a partnership or a trust, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that entity, and these terms then apply to it. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use Margin.

3. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract under Indian law.
  • You agree to give accurate account information and to keep it current.
  • You are responsible for everything done through your account, including anything done with an API token you created.
  • You must keep your login credentials and API tokens confidential, and tell us promptly if you believe either has been compromised.
  • An account is for one person. Please do not share your login with others or create accounts on behalf of people who have not asked you to.

4. What Margin does, and what it does not do

Margin holds your holdings and trades, your dividends, your funds statement, your DCF and reverse DCF valuations, your price anchors, your target allocation, your lists, tags and notes, and it computes returns, capital gains and tax figures from them. It is a tool for information you supply and assumptions you set.

Margin does not do the following, and you should not rely on it as though it did:

  • It does not give investment, legal, accounting or tax advice, and it does not consider your financial position, risk appetite or objectives.
  • It does not execute, route or place trades, and it holds no client funds or securities.
  • It is not a substitute for your broker's contract notes, your demat statement, or the filings and disclosures a company makes.
  • It is not a substitute for a chartered accountant. Capital gains and tax figures are computed from the trades and rates available to us, and they are an aid to your own filing rather than a return you can file as it stands.

You are responsible for verifying anything you act on. Where a number matters to a decision or to a filing, check it against your broker, your depository or your own records.

5. Your data and the files you upload

Your portfolio data stays yours. You keep all rights in the holdings, tradebooks, dividend records, funds statements, valuations, notes, tags and lists you put into Margin. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content for the sole purpose of operating the service for you, including computing valuations and returns, and supporting you when you ask for help.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload. Please do not put another person's portfolio, personal details or broker statements into Margin unless that person has authorised you to do so.

How we handle personal data, and the way the funds statement in particular is read in your browser and hashed on arrival, is described in our Privacy Policy and in how Privacy Vault protects you. Those pages are part of these terms by reference.

6. Market data, valuations and research

Prices in Margin come from the exchange bhavcopy at the close. They are end of day rather than live, and Margin shows you the date of the quote you are reading. Corporate actions, symbol changes and exchange revisions can take time to reflect, and data from any upstream source can be delayed, incomplete or wrong.

A DCF, a reverse DCF, a forward projection, an expected return or a what-if price is a calculation over inputs you supply. Change an assumption and the answer changes. These outputs carry no forecast of any actual result, and past returns computed inside Margin say nothing about future ones.

Research library reports, quick previews used in Screen, guides, insights and videos are published for information and education. They are prepared from public sources and from our own reading of a business, they can contain errors, they go out of date, and they are not tailored to you. A Yes, Maybe, No or Never you record in Screen is your own note to yourself and carries no view of ours.

7. API tokens and automated access

You may create personal API tokens so that an AI agent or a script of your own can work with your data, following the machine-readable instructions we publish. When you do:

  • The token acts as you, and you are responsible for every call made with it, including calls made by an agent or a third-party tool you have connected.
  • Please keep tokens secret. Do not commit them to a repository, paste them into a shared prompt, or hand them to a service you do not trust.
  • You may revoke a token at any time, and we may revoke or rate-limit a token that is being used in a way that threatens the stability of the service or the security of other users.
  • Uploads through the API replace or extend data as documented. You are responsible for understanding what a given call overwrites before you automate it.
  • We may set and change rate limits, quotas and the shape of API endpoints. Automated clients should tolerate change.

8. Acceptable use

While using Margin, you agree not to:

  • Resell, sublicense, redistribute or publicly republish the research library, Screen previews, guides or other content we produce, or use them to build a competing dataset or product.
  • Scrape, crawl or bulk-extract content or data beyond what the API and the interface are meant to provide.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source of the service, except to the extent Indian law expressly permits.
  • Probe, scan or test the security of the service, circumvent authentication or rate limits, or access data that is not yours.
  • Upload malware, or content that is unlawful, infringing or that you have no right to share.
  • Use the service in a way that degrades it for other users, or that breaches SEBI regulations, exchange rules, or any other applicable law.
  • Present output from Margin to other people as regulated investment advice, or use it to run an advisory or research business without the registrations that business requires.

9. Our intellectual property

The software, interface, design, brand, and the content we author, including research reports, guides, insights and videos, belong to Yuktibyte Products Private Limited or to our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service and to read that content for your own investing. Everything not granted in these terms is reserved.

You may quote a short extract of our published writing with attribution and a link. Please ask us first for anything more.

If you send us feedback, feature ideas or bug reports, we may use them freely to improve Margin, without obligation or payment to you.

10. Pricing and the free plan

Margin is currently offered on a free inaugural plan, with no card required. That plan is introductory and its terms will change. We may introduce paid plans, move features between plans, or set limits on usage. We will give you notice before a change starts to affect an existing account, and you will always have the choice to export your data and stop using the service instead of accepting a new price.

Where charges do apply in future, they will be stated at the point of purchase along with taxes, billing period and any refund terms, and those stated terms will govern that purchase.

11. Availability and changes to the service

Margin is a young product under active development. We may add, change or remove features, adjust how a calculation is presented, or take the service down for maintenance. We do not promise any particular level of uptime, and we do not offer a service level agreement on the free plan. Where a change would remove something you depend on, we will try to give reasonable notice.

12. Suspension, termination and deletion

You may stop using Margin at any time and ask us to delete your account. On deletion, we remove your personal data from the vault and your portfolio records from our systems, except where we must retain something to meet a legal obligation, and except for backups that expire on their normal cycle.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that puts the security or stability of the service at risk, or where we are required to do so by law. Where the circumstances allow it, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put things right, and we will give you a reasonable window to export your data.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that data, prices, valuations, returns, capital gains or tax figures within it will be accurate, complete or current.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any investment loss, trading loss, lost profit, lost opportunity, loss of data, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of your use of Margin, whether the claim is framed in contract, tort or otherwise, and whether or not we were told such loss was possible.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service in any twelve month period is limited to the greater of the fees you actually paid us for the service in that period, or one thousand rupees.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including liability for fraud or for wilful misconduct.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yuktibyte Products Private Limited, its directors, employees and contractors, against claims, damages, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, your use of an API token, or content you uploaded that you had no right to upload.

16. Third-party services and links

Margin works alongside services we do not control, including your broker, the exchanges, Databunker for the privacy vault, YouTube for story videos, and any AI agent or script you connect through an API token. We are not responsible for those services, their terms, their availability or their content, and a link from our site is not an endorsement. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product and the law change. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page, and for a material change we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Margin after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them, and you and we submit to that jurisdiction.

19. General

  • If a provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest continues in force.
  • Our not enforcing a provision on one occasion does not waive our right to enforce it later.
  • You may not assign these terms without our written consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, an acquisition or a sale of assets.
  • These terms, together with the privacy pages referred to in section 5, are the entire agreement between you and us about the service.

20. Contact and grievances

For questions about these terms, a data request, or a grievance under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, write to support@marginapp.in, addressed to the Grievance Officer, Yuktibyte Products Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. We aim to acknowledge a grievance within 24 hours and to resolve it within 15 days.
